September 27, 2024Under Democrats: Companies Filing For Bankruptcy
The Democrat Party cannot and will not run on their record with America’s economy. This is why most of their messaging is geared towards painting Trump as a monster. Democrats have controlled the White House 12 out of the last 16 years, and they have a record of failure to look through. Just under Biden/Harris alone in the last four years, the mass bankruptcies of well-known brands are startling. Let’s take a cursory glance at Bidenomics and what the next four years could look like under more Democrat rule.
Several well-known companies have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy since 2021, reflecting a variety of industries facing economic challenges. Here are some notable cases:
Tupperware (2023) – The iconic food storage brand filed for Chapter 11 as it struggled with declining sales and competition from modern alternatives.
Cineworld (2022) – The parent company of Regal Cinemas, one of the world’s largest cinema chains, faced financial struggles after the pandemic severely impacted the movie theater business.
Party City (2023) – This retail chain, known for party supplies, filed for Chapter 11 as inflation and supply chain issues took a toll on its business.
Yellow Corporation (2023) – One of the largest trucking companies in the U.S., Yellow declared bankruptcy due to mounting debt and labor disputes.
Rite Aid (2023) – The pharmacy chain filed for Chapter 11 amid increasing litigation costs related to the opioid crisis and financial struggles exacerbated by competition and market shifts.
Proterra (2023) – An electric vehicle manufacturer, Proterra sought bankruptcy protection amid challenges in scaling its production.
WeWork (2023) – The office-sharing giant, which had been struggling since its failed IPO in 2019, filed for Chapter 11 as it could not sustain its losses in the face of decreased demand for office space post-pandemic.
Mallinckrodt (2023) – A pharmaceutical company specializing in pain medications, Mallinckrodt filed due to heavy debt and ongoing litigation related to opioid production.
That is just to name a handful, several well-known restaurant chains have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy since 2021, with Red Lobster being one of the more prominent examples. Red Lobster filed for Chapter 11 in May 2024. Similarly, other notable restaurant chains have faced financial struggles. Ruby Tuesday filed for bankruptcy in October 2020. Even Big Lots, the beleaguered discount retailer that previously warned it had “substantial doubt” about its survival, has filed for bankruptcy.
Additionally, Logan’s Roadhouse, a part of SPB Hospitality, also filed for bankruptcy like Red Lobster. These restaurants, alongside others, have found themselves in a shitstorm under the Democrat’s stewardship of the economy. There is a record here to look at and compare to the four years Republicans had trying to turn it around. The last 16 years of Democrat economic folly have dug America into a deep hole. Americans are now in a position in which they have to be single-issue voters and vote on the economy only, we can all argue about the rest after the Republicans turn this economic disaster around. If the economy keeps going like this Democrats won’t be able to afford the abortions they so desperately covet.
