June 4, 2024Trump’s VP Pick Predictable
I have heard a lot of hubbub that has surrounded Donald Trump’s pick for the Office of the Vice Presidency as of late. Everyone on the right is pulling for their horse. Folks are trying to figure out who he will pick. Pundits are giving their opinions and anyone with a political pulse has a thought on the matter. So, I thought I would share mine.
Being the author of the book “Poli-sci-smic: The Positive Impact of the Trump Administration the Achievements of MAGA” I certainly had some thoughts on the matter. Unlike so many people who muse publicly on whether Trump will do this or that, I don’t believe it is a guessing game. I don’t ponder if Trump would start a world war or become a tyrant like some people wonder about. I know what Trump is going to do. All you have to do to know what a second Trump Presidency would be like is to look at the first Trump Presidency.
I also believe that axiom applies to Joe Biden. We do not have to ponder what Joe Biden will do with another term, just look at his disaster of a first term. Both of these men have a record as president and are not some unknown enigmas that one has to figure out. In fact, both men are very predictable, despite the unpredictable label they paint Trump with. So, when people start to think about all of these different possibilities as Trump’s VP, we have clues.
We know from Donald’s first pick for the vice presidency that he will disappoint everyone with his pick. Think about how you felt when you first learned that Trump picked Mike Pence as his running mate. Mike who? What? He picked who? These might have been your responses at the time. Do you remember the crushing letdown that you felt when Trump went in that direction? I remember, and it sucked. Well, folks, he will do that again. Trump is going to let us down with his choice. We know this because this is what he did last time.
So, all of those political orgasmic choices we all carry in our hearts and minds will be crushed under the reality that Trump will not pick anyone dynamic. Donald will not choose a person that will outshine him. We know that about the man, so there is no reason to hope for a great pick to continue the America First Movement post-Trump. Trump will not be passing the MAGA torch to the next generation of leaders to continue his movement, he will pick someone boring. Trump will pick somebody we will not back for the 2028 Presidential Election.
There will be no perfect choice like Ron DeSantis. There will be no “mainstream press slayer” like Marco Rubio. The never-Trumpers and endless war types will not get their Nikki Haley pick. There will not be some beautiful female governor to be a shiny penny, none of these things will happen. Donald Trump’s pick for the VP slot will be a thundering letdown that you can count on. All of this is very predictable.
