March 7, 2025Amy Coney Barrett Is A Problem
Amy Coney Barrett, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, is a problem for the MAGA agenda. Amy joined our other turncoat on the high court, Justice Roberts, in becoming an obstacle to a conservative/populist direction they were chosen to protect. Justice Barrett misled President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement as a whole when it came to what she insinuated during her confirmation process.
I don’t know if we can completely stop a judge from misleading the Senate when it comes to their true judicial philosophy, but one step would be to ignore conservative think tanks and their so-called lists of potential justices. We need to stay away from swampy organizations in Washington D.C. that say they have our nation’s best interest at heart. In truth, anything out of Washington is not MAGA by definition.
When it comes to picking a justice for the Supreme Court, MAGA, through their vehicle, the Republican Party, must use common sense and see the obvious clues in a judge’s background. In Amy’s case let’s look at the clues.
- Barrett is Irish Catholic (PREDOMINANTLY Democratic, i.e. JFK)
- Amy graduated from the University of Notre Dame (a Catholic/Liberal leaning college)
- Barrett grew up in a blue state, Louisiana
- Amy is a Catholic (Church leans left, leftist Pope)
- Barrett taught at liberal colleges, Rhodes College, George Washington University of Law, Notre Dame Law School, and University of Virginia School of Law, not exactly a gathering of conservative intelligentsia
- According to Politico, Amy pulled a Democratic ballot in the 2011 primary
- According to a review by Reuters, Barrett is less conservative on cases involving employment discrimination, labor, and criminal defendants
- Amy was a member of the American Law Institutes. Justice Antonin Scalia expressed concerns about ALI and its influence, stating that it strayed from their original purpose of describing the law, instead focusing on advocating for what the law ought to be
- Barrett married a fellow graduate and law professor from the liberal-leaning college she attended
- Amy became a member of “People of Praise,” a group outside the Catholic Church that anthropologist Thomas Csordas wrote is a group influenced by the communitarianism of the 1960s counterculture
I found all of that on open source in less than an hour, so I have to wonder how much time was put into looking at Amy Coney Barrett. It didn’t take much to see there were cracks in the image of a loyal clerk under Antonin Scalia. Moving forward, the next Supreme Court pick by the MAGA movement must do its due diligence in picking just the right person to advance the America First movement. MAGA does not need to add any more constituents to the Roberts/Barrett turncoat wing of the Supreme Court.
