December 18, 2024Joe Biden’s Disastrous Presidency 2020-2024
The presidency of Joe Biden has faced significant criticism for a series of policies, decisions, and outcomes that have hurt the United States. One of the Biden presidency’s most controversial aspects has been its energy policy approach. Early in his term, President Biden took steps to curtail fossil fuel production, including canceling the Keystone XL pipeline, halting new oil and gas leases on federal lands, and imposing regulatory hurdles that discouraged investment in domestic energy. These policies weakened U.S. energy independence and contributed significantly to rising energy costs.
Higher energy prices have a cascading effect across the economy, increasing transportation and production costs for goods and services, which in turn fuels inflation. By reducing domestic energy supply and increasing reliance on foreign oil, Biden’s policies exacerbated an energy crisis that Americans felt acutely in the form of skyrocketing gas prices and utility bills. Biden’s administration has been characterized by unprecedented levels of government spending, including the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. While these measures were touted as necessary to recover from the pandemic such massive spending pumped excessive liquidity into the economy, overheating it and driving inflation to its highest levels in 40 years.
The Federal Reserve has had to implement aggressive interest rate hikes to combat this inflation, leading to increased borrowing costs for consumers and businesses, stalling economic growth, and exacerbating fears of a recession. Biden’s approach to immigration has been a failure to secure the southern border. His rollback of Trump-era policies, such as the “Remain in Mexico” program and construction of the border wall, combined with a perceived leniency toward illegal immigration, has led to record-breaking numbers of migrant crossings.
This influx has overwhelmed border patrol resources and local communities, leading to a humanitarian and security crisis. The administration’s policies have allowed criminals, drug traffickers, and potential terrorists to enter the country undetected. The resulting surge in fentanyl and other illicit drugs has contributed to a devastating overdose epidemic. The withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan in August 2021 stands as one of the most criticized moments of Biden’s presidency. The chaotic exit resulted in the death of 13 U.S. service members and left behind thousands of Afghan allies, as well as American citizens. Additionally, billions of dollars in military equipment were abandoned, falling into the hands of the Taliban.
This botched withdrawal not only undermined America’s credibility but also emboldened adversaries such as China, Russia, and Iran, who viewed the debacle as evidence of waning U.S. resolve and competence on the world stage. Under Biden, the U.S. has faced significant foreign policy challenges that have made the world less stable. The ongoing war in Ukraine, spurred by Russia’s invasion, is seen as a failure of deterrence. Biden’s perceived weakness, highlighted by the Afghanistan withdrawal, encouraged Vladimir Putin to act aggressively.
Similarly, tensions with China have escalated, with Beijing growing more assertive in its threats toward Taiwan. The Biden administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict has also drawn criticism for lacking clear and decisive leadership, further straining relationships in the Middle East. These challenges have raised concerns that the world is closer to a major conflict, with some warning of a looming World War III scenario.
President Biden has been accused of dishonesty on multiple occasions. From misrepresenting economic successes to downplaying inflation as “transitory,” or claiming “the border was closed” or that he would not pardon his son Hunter President Biden lied almost every time he spoke to Americans in one way or another. Joe even said his uncle was eaten by cannibals. Biden has repeatedly failed to be transparent with the American people and had a strained relationship with the truth during his entire presidency.
Furthermore, Biden has been criticized for flip-flopping on key campaign promises, including his assurances of uniting the country and restoring civility to American politics. Many view his administration as deeply cravenly partisan, with executive actions and policies that have alienated large segments of the population. Under Biden, the Department of Justice (DOJ), FBI, and other federal agencies have been weaponized against political opponents. The multiple indictments of former President Donald Trump and the targeting of parents protesting at school board meetings have been cited as examples of the administration using federal power to silence dissent and punish adversaries.
Additionally, the IRS’s expanded authority under Biden has raised concerns about government overreach and the potential for targeting middle-class Americans, despite promises to focus on wealthy tax evaders. Beyond inflation, Biden’s economic policies have harmed businesses and workers. Regulatory overreach has stifled growth, with many industries facing burdensome new rules that increase costs and reduce competitiveness. The administration’s push for a “green” economy has led to layoffs in traditional energy sectors and higher costs for consumers, from electric vehicles to renewable energy projects that remain out of reach for many middle-class families overall destroying the planet Earth through mining and other damages caused by green energy fantasies.
Despite campaigning as a unifier, Biden’s presidency has been marked by deepening divisions in American society. Critics point to his rhetoric, which has often vilified political opponents as threats to democracy, as exacerbating polarization. His administration’s focus on identity politics and progressive social policies has further alienated conservatives and moderates alike. From soaring grocery and housing prices to rising crime rates in major cities, many Americans feel that their quality of life has declined under Joe Biden’s rule. The administration’s policies have prioritized ideological goals over practical solutions, leaving working-class Americans to bear the brunt of economic and social challenges.
The Biden presidency has faced significant challenges and many of these are self-inflicted. From energy policy to foreign affairs, economic decisions to social issues, the administration’s actions have often been described as out of touch with the needs and concerns of everyday Americans. While supporters may point to certain achievements, the negative effects and failures of the Biden administration remain a focal point for its detractors and outweighed any good the man ever did. The Joe Biden Presidency will no doubt go down in history as the worst presidency in America during the Twenty-first Century.
