Reading David Brooks’ article “What’s Happening Is Not Normal. America Needs an Uprising That Is Not Normal” in the New York Times on 4/17/25 made me realize that the elites are, in fact, on the run. David represents everything the America First movement is fighting against. It is David and David’s ilk that were the connected tissue that joined together as the establishment, Deep State, or whatever appellation you want to paint on it, that gave birth to MAGA.

Decades of a one-sided, twisted, and interpretively depraved ideology of Big Government (Republican and Democrat) that crushed the working class under its feet is what called for an uprising by the American-style proletariat named MAGA. David Brooks is a swamp creature popping his head above the muck, calling for other swamp critters in the marsh to join him on a crusade to spread their ideological ooze and take their swamp back.

Before this last election, Democrats had control of the White House for 12 out of the last 16 years and now call for an uprising to return themselves to the captain’s chair on the ship of our future. Well, we will not allow that. Elon Musk went on the Joe Rogan Podcast and said that he could not push any harder to expose corruption in the government because “they” would kill him. What Elon is saying, by de facto, is that America is not allowed to have a real democracy, but only part of one, a slice of one, but we don’t get the whole thing.   Elon said that all he can do is try to do enough to keep America going a little longer, but he cannot finish the job.

The dark forces in the shadows run shit and they will forever run things and there is no stopping them if David Brooks gets his way.  America will never get a chance like this again to take back control of its government, and Elon is saying he can’t finish the job, or they will assassinate him. Since Elon does not want to die for this cause, we will never get this chance again to clean up and reclaim control of our government. MAGA must press on. It is time to face the truth, minus confronting and identifying these corrupt and pernicious people running a shadow government once and for all, democracy remains just an illusion. Despite Trump and Musk’s efforts, the Davids of the swamp still covet authority of their own.

The clarion call by David Brooks shows us that the elites are on the run. There are people behind the scenes who control our money, government, and future that have been untouchable, unaccountable, and out of control because even the richest man in the world is afraid of them. By what authority do I make such a claim? It’s through the economic violence and the suffering found under David Brooks and the swamp’s reign.
