October 30, 2024Republican Response To D.C. and Puerto Rico Statehood
Two things are axiomatic, one, Republicans will win back the Senate next week, two, in the future the Democrats will take it back again. However, next time when the Dems return to control of the Senate, they will without a doubt push to make Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico a state. The reason is power, they know these two will vote Democrat and give them four more Democrat Senators to lock up control of the Senate for quite some time. Nothing will stop them from doing this once they can.
So, for Republicans, there is a simple answer to this trickery. When the right has the power make EVERY American territory a state, all of them, not just Democrat-leaning ones. That is right, all of them, make American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, United States Virgin Islands, and all minor outlying islands such as Bajo Nuevo Bank, Baker Island, Howland Island, Jarvis Island, Johnston Atoll, Kingman Reef, Midway Islands, Navassa Island, and Palmyra Atoll all states. Let the Senate chips fall where they may and have the two parties compete for their votes.
Republicans would be stupid not to intervene beforehand and stop cold the Democrat plan to take over the Senate. They need to make other countermeasures for packing the Supreme Court and the Senate filibuster, all of which the Democrat Party will alter the second they can. It is not good enough to have the Republican Party get rolled over and over and just sit there and complain about all of the never-ending chicanery by the Democrat Party, it is time to be proactive and have the right-wing block all of these threats before they transpire. If the right does not do this, they will be called colonists by the left soon enough, and the left will hand them their asses once again by only doing Democrat-leaning territories. Republicans need to stop being a mooncalf.
