Cut the Taxes and All is Forgiven President Trump

In Columns, Politics, Trump

There are a lot of things that are going right and many things going wrong. The new administration is certainly having some growing pains. I was mad over the abandonment of funding for the wall in the first budget, but then I heard the healing words. Senator Cruz said to let Mexican Kingpin El Chapo pay for the wall. “Ted Cruz Calls for the $14 Billion Seized from ‘El Chapo’ to Fund Border Wall.” It was freaking brilliant! That is a way Mexico can pay for the wall in the most fair and intelligent way. Let the Mexican Drug Cartels pay for it.

Serendipitously, I just happened to be at the end of watching the Netflix Original Series called Narcos about the life of Pablo Escobar. Growing up in the 1980s I relate to this TV show like no other. I was there in South Florida when much of that happened. Just in the news lately, we hear that the last Cocaine Cowboy has been found in hiding after nearly three decades on the run. Well, I was there in South Florida in the days of the Cocaine Cowboys and I am here to tell ya, it was no joke. There are even t-shirts nowadays that says, “I survived South Florida in the 1980s” and trust me, the shirt says it all. If you watch the show Narcos, you will understand without a shadow of a doubt that El Chapo can pay for the wall. Unbelievably, a cogent idea for Ted Cruz. I might even stop calling him lying Ted after this.

If President Trump succeeds at changing the tax code in the manner that was announced yesterday 4/26/17 by National Economic Director Gary Cohn and United States Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin, then all is forgiven. All of the missteps, broken promises, and double talk will fade into the ash bin of history and President Trump will take his place next to Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy as one of the greatest presidents in the last sixty years or maybe ever. That is how important this is. It will touch all of us. It is time. It is long overdue.

I bounced around after the announcement and went from leftwing business channels to rightwing business networks and was stunned to see ideology spilling into economics. Maybe stunned is the wrong term; blind ignorance might fit more. I had no idea the financial media can be so bias. Identifying ideology in simple math or economics now can be considered a pastime. We really do need to split the country in half. We’ll give everyone twelve months to get on which side of the Rockies they want to live and then we can go live our lives the way we want. The left can live on the left of the lower 48 states and the right can live on the right. In one hundred years, let’s see who is better off.

For the young people who were not there or old enough in the 1980s and 1990s when we had the kind of growth that is about to happen, well, hold onto your socks. You Millennials are getting out of your parent’s basements and homes. Your lives are about to begin. Get ready. It is time to dream. This will cure you of your socialist tendencies like nothing else. It is going to cure a lot of things and not just for your generation. We’ve all been waiting.
