Any cursory view of modern TV or commercials and one can’t help but notice that somehow the image of The American Male has be changed quite dramatically. When I grew up, the stereotypes and type casting were altogether very different.
Mostly the women were betrayed as barefoot and pregnant. Fast forward a couple of decades and the American male has been shaped as the stupid guy who can’t get anything right in a commercial or they are betrayed as some weak suck in a TV show with some dominating woman towering over them. They are berated and women are the ones pointing out how stupid they are most of the time.
The politically correct crowds who see themselves portrayed on television as something short of their ideal image, got their revenge and have turned the tables on the guys. However, men in general won’t claim victim status on this and the image has gone beyond some TV skit and has crept into the true America male and his behavior.

Personally, I am very disturbed to see how many vagina-whipped men there truly are in America nowadays. I personally know an alarming amount of men who have surrendered their testicles and spines to way too many women. I’m not talking about the guys who meet their spouses halfway in some Utopian realm of compromise. I’m talking about the countless men out there that have abdicated all reminiscence of manhood. We see these men everywhere.
I know many of them and even in the supermarket I see these spineless jelly fishes cower to their wives in front of their own children. I believe, in the long run, this will have many negative side effects to our society and will one day leave us a weaker nation.
I remember the TV commercial where the woman sang a song about bringing home the bacon and frying it up in the pan. Now they crack the pan over the heads of the men. The percentage of women being the abuser in domestic violence cases has skyrocketed and statistics show that men are growing even weaker and the judicial system has not kept up with this changing trend.
Children are being raised to believe that daddy is the numbskull in all things important and the men are molding themselves to this new image. It is time American men hit the reset button and remember that ultimately they are the King of The Castle and protector of a nation and all our families.
This weakness must come to an end and it is time to grow a set. If this keeps up, there will be a new industry born of dresses made for men. If this keeps up, all the little girls of the country will end up marrying someone just like daddy and the cycle will have no end.
Men, it is time for an introspective declaration in this country; it is time to take an honest look in the mirror. Put down your face cream and please just take a look at yourself. It is time to stand up when you pee at home. Splatter be damned. You be the man! Put down that blow dryer and hairspray. Get a hold of yourselves, men. Stop shaving every bit of hair off your body in some insane effort to please these molls.
You are a man, damn it, start acting like it! There is no reason on Earth you should be caught in a store called Bed, Bath & Beyond! Get a hold of yourself, my brother! Meanwhile, has anyone seen my tweezers? My eyebrows are getting a little too thick.

This TV commercial was removed from the air by Verizon Communications under pressure by His Side, a men’s rights organization led by activist Glenn Sacks. The campaign against the ad was endorsed by countless psychologists and family counselors because of the ad’s denigration of fathers and men in general. Now if only they would have a go at the dozens of other commercials…

Oh come on C. Rich. I’m one of those women who is the opposite of everything you post here. Men only have themselves to blame, not women or “femininity.” And just for the record there is nothing wrong with “feminine” qualities like caring and nurturing.
Caring and nurturing are human qualities, not “feminine” qualities. 80% of all child abuse is committed by women. When the hormonal degenerates learn once again how to become good mothers to their children, those children will not grow up to have anger and revenge in their hearts.
Just now is the first time that I’ve seen that banned Verizon commercial. It is a joke and an insult. It was probably put together by some lesbian who was abused by her family.
C. Rich does need to recognize that women have risen in power and status. As the father of a duaghter, I am happy to see that. However, females need to understand that if there is not mutual respect, there will be no respect.
Wow, I usually like your articles, but frankly uhm, isn’t the whole “witch hunting” and “blaming Eve” for all the ills of the world kind of outdated?
I agree with you Rich, where are the men?Every guy I date wants to be so emotional and needy.
Mr. CRich I hate to admit it but you are so right. When I first met my husband he was such a strong man.14 years later, he is such a wimp now.
Gee-Gee, I know what you are saying.I look at my husband and wonder what happened to the man I loved?
My husband seems to have a problem with the size of his penis. It is not very big but my x-husband hurt me with his and I never felt comfortable with it.It hurt and I never enjoyed it.Now I have a small man who feels good but his ego is destroying everything or should I say lack of ego.He has a hard time about the size of it and for me I think it makes him weak. I told him over and over again how I like it but he does not believe me and has become so girlish.

I know women are not to say it but,CRICH you are right about this.I see this in my husband and now in my teenager.
I’m single and I can tell you that women who don’t understand this must be married for 20 years or something.I’m single and dating in 2010 and I can tell you these guys are wimps.
I don’t see this article has blaming the women but rather the men. They “are” a bunch of pansies anymore. My husband is not but he see this at work all the time. The men are just wimps today.Too sentimental if you ask me.
A manly woman is a poor substitute for manly man!
…Ask any cop or battlefield soldier.
For too long have white men been unfairly persecuted by the rest of the world. When will we get our due?
Thanks to you, C Rich, we’ll soon see more commercials putting down women, minorities, and those with disabilities. The way things should be.
