When the Republicans demand that the whole health care monstrosity be scrapped and ask the president to start over, they have the Constitution on their side. For no other reason, the president should start over.

The government forcing people to buy some product, any product, is unconstitutional. Never in the history of this republic has the government been able to force the populace to buy a particular product in the private market. The Constitution would never allow such tyranny. You can find no examples of this in our history, not one. There is not a single product in the free market that “every citizen” has to buy or else you are in trouble with the law.

All of this time spent on this, even if they pass it, will never hold up in court at the end of the day. The only Constitutional way to do that is to change the system to Medicare for all and wipe out the health insurance industry. The government can’t leave an industry in place within the “free market” and then force the entire country to buy some product against their will.

Like McCain-Fiengold, this bill is dead from jump street. I know it did not stop the government from making it law or President Bush from signing it, even after he said it was unconstitutional. The fact is they all did it and waited for the Supreme Court to knock it down. It was all an utter waste of time.

That is what is happening here. All this energy and focus means nothing, because it will never ever hold up in court. The government can not force all the people to buy a particular product in the free market. Thus the meaning of the term “free market.”

So, just let it go President Obama and unless you want to do a government single payer system, then could use please focus on jobs?
