“Chris Obligato, the general manager and partial owner of the new Five Guys, says that the reason those restaurants failed was because of high prices and bad service.

“I think the atmosphere in this place where you get to see your meal made in front of you,” Obligato said. “You get to see a real live crew. It’s an upbeat atmosphere, just like Madison is.”

Five Guys hopes to differentiate themselves from other chain restaurants by using all fresh ingredients. There is no freezer in the five guys kitchen and the buns are flown in several times a week from a Virginia bakery.”
