Once again on the headlines of all the newspapers and websites across the country, we are reading that the government is working on extending unemployment benefits for the millions of people who have lost their jobs. What you’re not hearing is the truth. Not a single major news network, newspaper, reporter or anyone at all in the press is telling the country what is going on here.

The extended unemployment benefits that the government has already passed and is about to pass again is nothing more than an accountant trick. It is a shell game and an illusion at the very least. Here’s how it truly works.

The collapse of the economy and more in particular the massive loss of jobs did not start until November of 2008. In that month more people lost their jobs in this country than any other month of the previous twenty-seven years. Because it was the biggest month of jobless claims in nearly three decades, we can clearly show you a starting point. The starting point of the massive job loss in this country began in November of 2008.

It picked up steam and kept rolling until millions and millions of people were swept out of their jobs. The extended unemployment benefits that has already been signed into law and the one that the house just passed does not include or apply to any Americans that lost their jobs from November 2008 until the present day. The only way to access the extended benefits is if you were laid off before the actual collapse.

They have purposely written the law in such a way that it does not include the people that have truly been affected by the collapse of the American economy. Somehow this fact is omitted in any reporting of extended unemployment benefits. I want you to listen and read very closely. The unemployment benefits that the government is providing has nothing to do with the people that were laid off since the collapse began.

In other words, the massive economic job loss and the destruction of the American family as a result, is not connected or related in any way to receiving these extended unemployment benefits. We’re talking about millions of people who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own.

The government and Wall Street, together, created this problem and destroyed millions of jobs; yet, they will not provide a safety net to the millions of people directly affected by this. They are literally letting the people hit the streets, lose their homes and every other horrific thing you could imagine that comes with no job and no unemployment benefits.

Anyone who was laid off from November 2008 to this point only has whatever the normal unemployment was before the economic collapse. Not a single dollar of government assistance applies to this group. So, basically, if you lost your job after the government and Wall Street destroyed it, you’re shit out of luck. We all know people directly affected by this and I want each and every person who reads this to tell another person what is going on. This accounting trick and shell game the government is playing with extended unemployment benefits represents a clear and present danger to the survival of the American family.

The effects on crime and the possibilities of civil unrest are not just some notion to banter about. You’ve got to ask yourself, what is this country going to look like after all of these people have lost their jobs and cannot find a job and have been cut off from all meager unemployment benefits? What kind of country will that look like? The government and Wall Street created this problem and at the very least they are responsible for extending these benefits until they fix the problem that they created.

There are no jobs for millions of Americans. It is not a problem of people being on unemployment for long periods of time out of laziness. There is no laziness to be found, but only desperation. You must ask yourself why would my country do something like this. Why would they just let all those people hit the streets with nothing? Imagine how disillusioned millions of people will be when everything they believed in about their own country and all the taxes they paid throughout their working lives, that in the end, none of it would matter and they would be out of luck.

Any country or government who is responsible or complicit in some way to the destruction of a nation’s economy and then lets those people hit the streets and fend for themselves, is not a country at all. I am utterly ashamed of my government and I am enraged whenever I hear those two words, “Wall Street.” You have to ask yourself why would your government play any kind of games with dates and eligibility with unemployment benefits under these dire circumstances.

The public believes that these extensions are actually extensions. They are not aware that it is an accountant game to show that the unemployment rate is falling. The more people they block from extended benefits, the more the government can say, “Hey look, the unemployment numbers are coming down.” To not include the millions and millions of Americans who have been affected by this man-made disaster is horrific and immoral.

I am blaring an alarm bell right now to all those Americans that have been laid off from the first month of the collapse. Those of you who are hearing that you will have extended unemployment benefits and believe that you are safe, are going to wake up one morning with nothing. The government is not telling you, the media is not telling you and the unemployment office is not even telling you. If you are one of these people, you NEED to call the unemployment office directly and ask them when your benefits run out.

One of the most nefarious things about all of this, is the lack of information and not giving you time to prepare. Because of that, you will be wiped out with no way to pay your bills. This is no joke. It requires immediate attention. I am telling you that the United States government through this process is systematically wiping out American families, which apparently are not too big to fail in their minds.

I would suggest if you have a job and have no understanding of this, to remember that those people in this situation were once you. I would ask you to recognize that it’s not over and it still could be you one day. If we the people do not speak up, call the government out on the carpet and expose this lie, then the concept of self-governance is as much an illusion as these extended unemployment benefits.

People, it’s time to take your bullhorns and go to the mountaintops.

~*~*~*~ UPDATE ~*~*~*~

I’m not saying that this article caused this change but even with this move from the government, they still will leave out millions more, unless they keep changing the date. If they don’t keep up with this, people will be hurt. Families will be devastated.  So far the people who have fallen through the cracks have been able to go back and reapply. The fact that there was down time between checks and no down time between their bills has cause many much stress. To not just make this a “blanket extension for everyone” allows the government to turn off the faucet when they choose, if they choose. The eligibility dates that keep moving are the faucet that they control. If they don’t move the dates each time it runs out, people will be hurt. I am asking, why even do it that way? Why put these people under so much stress wondering if they will move the date again to include them? I’ll try to stay on top of this but you must call them if you’re in this boat. Here’s the latest update from the Unemployment Website…

April 16, 2010
