This is my favorite part of the year. I love the NFL and everything that surrounds football season. I love the fact that my old lady goes out of her way to make so many finger foods for me, while I watch the games. Football food is a staple in my house and kicks off the favorite part of the year for me.
I love sports, but nothing brings me joy like The NFL. I never got into college football. I know a lot of the country follows all those different schools, even if they never went to that school but happens to live within one hundred miles from a college team. No for me, there is nothing like professional football and in particular the skill level in The NFL.
I’ve been a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan since I was in the third grade. I stayed faithful as a fan, never bouncing from winning team to winning team. I was there through all those losing seasons and I was there with tears in my eyes when they won the Superbowl.
There is nothing like The NFL and no other football will do. This year my beloved team is about to take off on the most uncertain season in years. All new coaches and players. The most revamped team in one year ever. It is so exciting to me. It is like I have to learn my own team all over again with all the new personnel. Of course some things don’t change. We have a quarterback controversy in Tampa. Nothing new to Bucs fans, however I just wish they would let the rookie QB Josh Freeman play the whole year and earn his bones.
Why get such a great rookie, only to not let him play the first year? Hell, the season is so uncertain anyway; why not just let the guy get in there and learn? What ever happens here with my new coach and new team, I’m still just so happy it is football season again. Let the beer and wings flow.
