Henry Ford is rolling in his grave. To think he won the competition with GM and beat them into bankruptcy. He would have never imagined that after his company survived that, the government would prop up GM with all of our tax money. Now bring in your old car and Uncle Sam will give you another forty five hundred dollars to go back to that bankrupted company and give more money to GM. All borrowed money we don’t have. I am so disillusioned over this.

The “Cash for Clunkers” scam only helps upper-middle-class and rich people anyway. Poor people can’t get the money, bring it to a used car dealership and trade it for a car with better gas mileage. The money can only be used on a new car from a new car dealership. Do they think that the middle-class and below even have enough credit to qualify for a new car loan right now? What about not having a job to be able to qualify for a new car or even afford the payments on one?

No-No-No Working-class people will be stuck with there old gas hogs, while people who have lost their jobs, homes and self respect don’t get to raid the borrowed money cookie jar with the people who, after all of this, can still get a car loan. This thing is wrong on so many levels.

I had pulled up the requirements of this program and there are so many restrictions and hoops to jump through that you can see, it was purposely written to lock out poor people. At the same time, the willing media celebrates the wonderment of “Cash for Clunkers” and sells us all out once again. Americans need to wake up. This kind of financial irresponsibility is unsustainable and how it is so very targeted to leave out the poor is immoral.

It must be said that no one has been more screwed on so many things, than the poor and working class, when the Democrat Party consolidated power. Both parties have completely left the voters behind and went on warp speed towards the destruction of this country. Their words do not match their actions and this government has laid out a complete assault on the people. Each side wants you to be marred down in your ideology pointing fingers at Bush and Obama. Congress spends the money and writes the law. Since they don’t teach civics anymore, you might not know that.

The President is incapable of standing up to Pelosi and Reed. The so-called Blue Dogs are all bark and no bite and are edentulous watchdogs. The media not only turns their back to all this, they actually become willing useful idiots. It is nothing short of media activism and is a betrayal to the concept of speaking truth to power.

To look at the state of this union and watch all these politicians give themselves a month vacation for the summer is shocking. Health care reform be damned. They are going to the beach. However there is a party at General Motors, but it is invitation only. So enjoy your summer, America, and remember what they said, “We are the ones you’ve been waiting for.” Can’t you just feel the change?
