I am tired. Tired as hell of hearing, reading, and seeing our soldiers abroad becoming wounded or killed. Enough already! Bring the men and women who are American sailors, airmen and soldiers home to familiar shores. They are dying and being hurt for a no-win cause. Terrorism will not go away simply because we stabilized a couple of troubled countries. If that is the real reason for deploying our troops to this arid region. To fight and wage war on terror. Yea, right. In hindsight, what a stupid idea that was. Eliminate Al-Qaeda and it will all go away. Almost eight years have gone by and I ask, “Did we get rid of them yet?” in tilted-head fashion. I am waiting for a reply, Washington.

How did all this start in the first place? Oh yea, that’s right, we had to try to eradicate the source of our new enemy. Osama bin freaking Laden and Al-Qaeda. Someone we should have already taken out in the nineties, but was, at the last minute, canceled. Too much collateral damage and political fallout. Well boo-hoo. Forget that. Get the sucker! Now. Clinton, you hesitated and look at what happened in 2001. So we go to Afghanistan because Al-Qaeda trained there and we might as well get rid of the Taliban too while we’re there. Have we rid ourselves from Al-Qaeda? No. Are the Taliban fighters still there? Yes. Do the soldiers still die and get hurt? Yes. That’s not all.

Let’s go to Iraq again. Finally get Saddam and help those poor Iraqi people. Mr. Hussein has bombs. Big ones and we must make sure that no such object of mass destruction is used. Were there any devices of widespread damage ever found? Not no, not hell no, but fudge no. Only, I don’t mean fudge. Take Saddam out with a small, covert op instead of wasting taxpayer money on a whole fighting force. But no, we had to go there too with our military might. Just like Afghanistan, our men and women are dying in Iraq and for what? I think it is high time the Iraqi people start fighting for themselves. I am tired of America standing for countries anymore. We need to start standing up for ourselves for a change.

Get all our forces and station them here. Put them around our borders as porous as they are. Start to have a real effect on illegal immigration. Stop all the bad, pouring into this country and draining the resources meant for its own. I am not talking of some form of marshal law, but just a presence of the might we otherwise would project in some foreign land. Someone seeing a couple of tanks and a few hundred, gun-toting soldiers will definitely think twice about coming to America. Unless they do so correctly. Which, I have no problem with whatsoever.

So much could be gained by bringing every bit of our military back here. The money that will be saved is greatly needed in America. Our death toll would be reduced to oh, I don’t know, to about ZERO! Less families suffering needless heart break of a lost loved one. I can’t wait for any dang date of departure for those in Iraq or Afghanistan. I want them back before the year’s end. Come on, Washington. Bring our boys back home!
