In the hallways of Italian-American clubs across the country and pizzerias from coast to coast, Italian-Americans are filled with anger toward our new President. Entire groups of people are steaming right under the nose of the press and pollsters. This large segment of our population has just been pissed off, yet not a word from the mainstream media.
The whole thing jumped off when after a 6.3 earthquake hit Italy and devastated it, our President offered some emergency foreign aide that was more of an insult than any noble effort to help our friends on the other side of the pond. The choleric response came from Italian-Americans after President B. Hussein Obama offered Italy fifty thousand dollars in foreign emergency aide money to help the Italians. The President would have been better off never even offering to help Italy at all, instead of this fifty thousand dollar insult to this devastated region.
Italy was rocked with the worst earthquake in three decades. Even some of the aftershocks were measured 4.9 on the Richter scale. This preternatural event laid on Italy from Mother Nature was no joke. Entire blocks in L’Aquila, Italy were wiped out and hundreds of people died. Tent cities all over Italy have been set up to handle all of the homeless families. Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi allocated 133 million dollars for reconstruction and immediate aide to help his convivial countrymen. This became a full-scale natural disaster for Italy and other countries have been offering help with emergency aide.
Back at the Vatican, Pope Benedict dispatched Monsignor Georg Gaenswein and second in charge at the Vatican, Cardinal Bertone, to attend the countless funerals across the countryside. Now in the middle of this madness, there is our new African-American President offering some ridiculous slap in the face to the Italian population of America and Italy itself. Even though many Americans have family over in Italy dealing with this event, even though Italy sent men to Turkey to help victims of that earthquake and not to mention the Italians sending men and money to help Spain with the fires or Germany with their floods; with all this our American President offers a mere fifty thousand bucks to our old allies. Now contrast that with President B. Hussein Obama on January 27th, 2009 signing off on 20.3 million dollars of aide money for his Muslim buddies in the Gaza Strip, that on top of the hundreds of millions Gaza will get anyway.
Ostensibly, our President never even considered offending the Palestinians with a fifty thousand dollar insult. No, only the Italians get that treatment from this son of a Muslim father. We are being told that if we question this administration that we hate black people. We are all being told we are racist, if we decent with our government under this man. However one can’t help but see the shift in priorities when we elect an African-America man who once lived in a Muslim nation. We can now see the results from this election has a reverberating change on how we treat our old allies. We can’t help but notice, it seems Obama has a whole different set of friends than our previous old white guys in the presidency.
To a lot of us, we have strong ties to Europe with our different heritages and family trees going back a very long time. It is clear, if any of them ever need our help under Obama, we’ll have to do it through charities ourselves. Ironically this President has a different set of values. I got to give it to our President for one thing. He did run on “change” and now we slowly get to see what he had in mind with that slogan.
