Daniel Hannan is a writer and journalist and has been a Conservative MEP for South East England since 1999. He has eight books on modern European policy and speaks multiple languages. However, now his resume has something else to be added to it. Political Superstar is now his new title.

Daniel had a speech that he made in Parliament that was put on youtube and it flew around the Internet at lightning speed. The American Conservative Right made him their poster boy for common sense and logical governing. Daniel was stunned at first that this youtube phenomenon shot him out into the international stratosphere. He has been making his rounds on American TV shows and doing interviews at all times of the day from across the pond.

I loved his speech and I couldn’t help to think about something. I feel like it is so sad that we have to cross the Atlantic Ocean to find someone to speak for us. It is sad that this vacuum of leadership here in America can only be filled by a British politician. This is a huge problem for the Republican Party. There simply is no one who can speak as well about conservatism like this man. When you watch him speak, one can’t help but to realize that there is no one here who speaks like Daniel Hannan. 

We presently are without a leader of substance for conservatism in American politics. Without this void, would this video have made it to infamy? Would we even know his name? I think the answer to that highlights the terrible position conservatism finds itself in modern day America.
